Flither Girl Shawl

This shawl has been inspired by the women and girls from the Yorkshire Coast fishing communities who gathered bait from the rocky seashore in all extremes of weather. The name 'Flither' refers to the limpets used as bait by the local fishermen, and the women who collected them became known as 'Flither girls'.

Designed for warmth, this crossover style is wide enough to secure at the back. Knitted using 100% pure British 5ply gansey wool on thin needles to produce a tight-knit fabric, this shawl will 'turn the wind and repel a shower'.

Included in the kit: 300g Frangipani 5ply Colour A, 200g Frangipani 5ply Colour B, 200g Frangipani 5ply Colour C and knitting instructions.
