Gansey Sweaters

Traditional Gansey Sweaters

Traditionally, Gansey Sweaters take about 120 hours to knit by hand, so are very expensive to buy. I have taken some of the features of a Gansey, such as close-knit fabric and textured patterning to produce a Gansey style sweater using a knitting machine. The yarn used is 100% Lambswool, spun in Yorkshire, and every sweater is designed, made, and hand finished by me.

Our Gansey Sweater Collection

Having moved from my beloved Yorkshire in 2001, I have named each Gansey in the collection after some of my favourite places in Lancashire, where I now call my home.

KNOTT END GANSEY SWEATER

Knott End is a picturesque Lancashire village on the southern side of Morecambe Bay, across the Wyre Estuary from Fleetwood. The Wyre Rose is the Knott End to Fleetwood ferry, and is a well-used transport link and tourist attraction that has been in operation since 1841.

SKIPPOOL CREEK GANSEY SWEATER

Skippool Creek is situated along the western banks of the River Wyre. This historic docks area was used as a major trading port for hundreds of years. It is now a popular local recreation area including a Yacht Club and moorings for pleasure craft.
